The life of Siddhartha, founder of Buddhism, is represented in this contemporary ballet, Siddharta, by French choreographer Angelin Preljocal and composer Bruno Mantovani. In spite of the best efforts of the principal dancers and the corps de ballet of the Opera National de Paris, the production is undermined by dreary sets, an unattractive score and rather strange choreography.
